Reflection On Grammar Unit

After Christmas break, in language B I learned about grammar. First I think that grammar was so boring but when I learn more about grammar I think that grammar were a little bit fun. The things that I learned so far in the grammar unit are the parts of speech. Parts of speech is the 8 categories of speech, but my teacher Mr. Jabiz said that we were going to learn 4 categories first. The 4 categories that I've learn were noun, adjective, verb and adverb.

But now I'm learning about noun. Noun are things, places, people and ideas. Some of the thing that I've learned in noun are plural nouns, singular nouns, compound nouns, concrete nouns, abstract nouns, common nouns and proper nouns. I also had learned the definition of the nouns. For example, plural nouns are the things that are more than one, singular nouns are the things that's only one, compound nouns are two words that being one word like cupcake, common nouns are things, person and place for example mother, concrete nouns are the things that we can sense, abstract nouns are the things that we can't sense and proper nouns are the things that is specific like Jakarta.

After learning noun I'm going to take a quiz of nouns and then I'm going to learn adjective. I already know some things about adjective, adjective modifies noun. An Example of adjective are fat, glad, angry, and more.

This is a chart that explains about nouns. My friends and I did this chart to help us learned nouns more easier.


I like working as a group in "Google docs" because it's easier for me to do things in a group.
I like using "Flickr" for the images because the images from Flickr are more better than taking it from "Google".

My Reflection for Gabriel's Fun time

This term I and my friends in Language B made a story. This is my reflection for my story, Gabriel's fun time. My title for my story was Gabriel's Fun Time. After I've done my podcast, I felt happy that my story finish and post it in my blog because it was hard when I need to do silly voices. But when I was recording it's quite easy because in my story there are no scary things so, I didn't need to make scary voices.

The different thing between reading story and telling story is, if we read, we were like reading to our selves. But if we are telling stories we need to use expression and different voices so the people that hear our story will not be sleepy.

The difficult part for me is when I was writing the story because when I was writing the story I need to use the past tense. The easy part for me is the part when I was editing my podcast because when I was editing my podcast, I just need to find music and sound effect when it was the narrator talk I used soft music and when there Gabriel's family and friends was in the beach I used beach water sound and put more sounds in there and last I use the pitch to make it different voice.

The important things when I tell a story, that I need to remember are not to be embarrassed, we need to use expression to tell the story so the audience that heard our story will be sleepy. I think I was successful with my podcast in these things because I use my expression to tell my story.

I felt happy because I have finished my podcast. I think it takes me 1 month to make this podcast finish. I think that my podcast shows that I understand the differences between reading story and telling story because in my podcast I use my expression and I don’t tell my story like I was reading a story.

The part that I enjoy is the part when I was editing my podcast because it was fun to find music and sound effects. The part that I don’t enjoy is the part when we were editing our stories in the Google docs, because it was boring. After I've done my podcast I was happy because I didn't have to do silly voice anymore.

Storybird Reflection

Last three weeks in Language B, I made a story in Storybird. Storybird is a website. I use Storybird to make ideas.

In Storybird we can have more ideas because by seeing the picture in Storybird. I think storybird is fun to use, especially when we make story.

My Story is about a girl name Gabriel was mocked by the older friends and she didn't have any friends. Then one day a boy named Colin ask her out and they become friends.

The first step that I that I did to make the story is Search for images in storybird. I like to make this first step because it's nice to see the different pictures. Secondly, after I done choosing our picture for our own story, I made 21 slides. After that I added text to each slide.  I don't really like this stage because I need to think all the words for the story.

The next step was add dialogue and adjective and edited verbs to past tense. Then we took screenshots and printed every slide for a large story board.

This step is my favorite step because I love to take screenshot and print thing. Next, I cut and Paste all the text into a word document and added sensory language for example: smell, sound touch and feeling. Lastly I chose one conversation and made it longer.

That is the steps that I follow so far. I haven't finished my Storybird story because it was a long time to make it done. I was happy with my work so far. The most difficult part is the added text to each slide part. The stage I love the most is search for images in Storybird. Some of the words that I changed are the word that were not past tense.
